Yesterday afternoon, January 30, 2016, Erica and her family arrived at our home (www.littlegfarm.com.) The weather was perfect...sunny and in the 70's, with just the right amount of Brazoria County breeze, (as usual!) Her husband, Beau, and 2 daughters, Brenna (6) and Avenlea (16 months) came as well. It was such a blessing to see them all ...lots of adorable subjects!
Avenlea and my daughter, Grace, are only 3 months apart. We caught up some with chit chat, and then started off taking photos in my driveway, which is lined with 20 oak trees.
After a few family shots, and then some of Daddy and Avenlea, Beau held down the fort babysitting inside the house for us. The babies really enjoyed playing together!
Then Erica and I could really focus on just her. Erica is so absolutely beautiful, that every shot was fantastic and required VERY little editing. We took photos out by the chicken coop, against the brush, in front of the pond, and by our "sitting" tree.
I think we successfully captured the essence of beauty in a maternity session, and motherhood in general, too! Erica had great wardrobe change ideas, brought her cute little chalkboard. We left it blank, actually, so I could digitally put different words on it. I had a few cute head bands, and really some of the best shots came at the end! Might I add, that the sunset was quite obviously God's perfection.,,He can really paint a sky!
Brenna hung out with us as we moved to different spots on the property. She was honestly a great helper. I know she enjoyed the time bonding with Mom as well. What a precious, smart, well mannered doll!
They even stayed for dinner and we caught up on what's been going on in each others lives. What a treat that was! I feel truly blessed to call this family dear friends of mine. It was a privilege to document such a special time in their lives and create some precious memories for them with my camera. This is, without a doubt, the most rewarding hobby on Earth.
